Scheduled source updates
Two refresh steps, one clear flow
ShopBridge updates the source on your plan’s schedule. Power BI Desktop imports the latest available copy when you select Refresh. Desktop does not run unattended scheduled refreshes.
FROM CONNECTION TO REPORT
Your Desktop setup.
Use your local Power BI Desktop. No publishing or company workspace is needed.
Before you start
One-time setupSave your export key
This key lets Power BI read this store's tables. Keep it in your password manager and enter it only in Power BI's credentials dialog.
Already saved your key? Keep using it. Replacing it disconnects existing reports until you update their credentials.
Download your starter project
Includes your store address, the standard model, eleven relationships, 37 measures and five report pages. No keys or store records are included.
↓ Download Desktop starter (.zip)Expanded pilot model v0.3.0 · check your first refresh against Shopify before using the new financial and inventory reports.
Extract, open and connect
- Extract the whole ZIP into a new folder. Keep both subfolders next to
ShopBridge.pbip. - Open ShopBridge.pbip in a current Power BI Desktop version. If your version asks for Power BI Project support, enable it in Options → Preview features and restart.
- Select Home → Refresh. Choose Basic authentication and enter the details below.
- Save locally. Open the Catalog overview page to check your product count. Your existing report remains a separate file.
Set privacy to Private and apply credentials to the complete store-specific URL. Never paste the key into a query, report title or URL.
Check your first refresh
Add a draft product in Shopify → select Sync now in ShopBridge → select Refresh in Desktop. The Products card should increase by one. The Refresh & data quality page shows the two update timestamps.
Already have a report? Use the Power Query connection
Download the query, create a blank query in Desktop and paste it into Advanced Editor. Name it ShopBridge, then create four reference queries: ShopBridge[Products], ShopBridge[Variants], ShopBridge[Orders] and ShopBridge[OrderLines]. This route imports source tables only; the starter ZIP adds relationships and measures.
Refresh says my password is incorrect
Use your export key as the password, not your Shopify password. In Desktop, open File → Options and settings → Data source settings and update the credentials for this store's source URL.
Can this refresh automatically?
Shopify → ShopBridge runs on your plan’s schedule on our server. Desktop refresh is manual. For unattended Power BI refresh, publish only to a workspace you own or are authorized to use, configure Basic source credentials and a schedule, and check your Power BI license. Service refresh is not yet verified for this pilot.
UNDERSTAND YOUR SOURCE
Data tables.
Preview or download a complete source table directly in your browser. Power BI Desktop is optional.
Up to 8 preview rows. The export includes all rows within your plan's limits.
Available data and history
Products and variants: current catalog. Inventory items and visible current costs are available with catalog access. Stock by location requires granted inventory/location access. Orders and refund detail use your selected history range: 59 days, one year or all available.
ONE SHARED FOUNDATION
Build on a standard model.
Thirteen tables. Eleven relationships. 37 documented measures.
Relationships that filter predictably
Products 1 → many Variants 1 → many OrderLines
Calendar 1 → many Orders 1 → many OrderLines
InventoryItems → Variants and InventoryLevels ← Locations
Orders → Refunds ← RefundCalendar; Refunds and Variants → RefundLines
All relationships are active and filter in one direction. Metrics holds the measures; RefreshInfo records freshness. Dates are UTC. Product filters affect line quantities and distinct order counts; order-level monetary measures return blank when filtered by product to avoid incorrect allocation.
Catalog measures
Products · Active Products · Draft Products · Variants · Variants Without SKU
Sales measures
Orders · Current Order Value · Current Order Subtotal · Current Tax · Refunded Amount · Average Order Value · Current Line Quantity
Quality and freshness
All Imported Orders · Test Orders · Cancelled Orders · Order Currency · Last Shopify Sync UTC · Power BI Loaded UTC
Sales measures exclude test and cancelled orders. Order amounts return blank for mixed currencies. Refunds are reported separately and are never subtracted twice.
Built for clear interpretation
The current order total is a Shopify source value, not certified accounting net revenue. A selected history range does not guarantee lifetime completeness. Current costs do not establish historical profit or inventory aging. Model v0.3.0 includes documented table grains, a versioned MODEL-CONTRACT.json and a snapshot consistency check. Financial/stock measures stay blank if tables were imported from different source snapshots. Full definitions are included in MODEL-GUIDE.txt.

KNOW WHAT YOU CAN EXPORT
Data access & history.
Permissions granted by Shopify determine which tables can be populated.
Granted data access
Additional permissions are awaiting activation by the app owner. Existing exports remain available.
Reconnect Shopify ↗Approve read-only access to historical orders, inventory and locations in Shopify. This does not activate a paid subscription or change store records.
Your order history
Latest completed source
Unavailable access is not zero stock. Current unit costs are not historical purchase costs or realized profit. Only a successful full sync updates the published source.

A PLAN FOR YOUR STORE
Choose your subscription.
All plans include the full Desktop starter. Pick your history range, store size and source sync schedule.
Test billing: no real app charge is collected.
Clear billing, through Shopify
New subscriptions offer a 3-day trial. Shopify shows the final subscription terms, applicable taxes and any prorated plan change before you approve. Changing plans does not grant a new trial. Your previously approved subscription keeps its terms until you approve a change.
Starter includes the last 59 days. When you move to Starter, a new sync within its limits is required before the previous wider source can be exported. Reports already saved locally remain under your control.
Order limits apply to your selected history range, not to a monthly allowance. Every plan supports manual Sync now; the listed intervals apply to automatic source sync. Power BI Desktop itself refreshes when you select Refresh.
Power BI licenses and future paid report packs are separate. Store access granted by Shopify still determines available data.
CONTROL YOUR DATA
