← ShopBridgeFrom Shopify to your first report.
ShopBridge is currently a test-billing pilot awaiting public Shopify App Store approval. This guide describes the setup; a public install link will be available after approval.
1. Install and open
Install through Shopify on your own store. Review the requested read-only access, then open Shopify Admin → Apps → ShopBridge as the store owner. You do not need a separate ShopBridge account. Additional access and historical orders depend on Shopify approval. The app does not edit your catalog, orders or inventory.
2. Choose your subscription
Starter: USD 19 per 30 days, source updates every four hours, up to 1,000 orders in the last 59 days. Pro: USD 49, hourly updates, up to 5,000 orders in the selected range. Business: USD 99, 15-minute updates and the same history/record limits as Pro. New subscriptions have a three-day trial; plan changes do not start another trial. Review the final terms in Shopify. Current test billing makes no real app charge.
3. Check access and sync
In Data access & history, check your granted permissions and select an included history range. Save it, then choose Sync now. Wait for a completed source. A failed or oversized import preserves the previous complete export. Data tables lets you preview or download individual JSON tables without Power BI.
4. Download your Desktop model
Open Desktop setup and create your private export key. Save it securely. Download the Desktop starter ZIP and extract the whole ZIP into a new folder. Keep ShopBridge.pbip next to both subfolders. The project contains your source URL, 13 tables, 11 relationships, 37 measures and five report pages; it contains no export key or store records.
5. Connect in Power BI Desktop
Open ShopBridge.pbip in a current Power BI Desktop version. If Desktop asks for Power BI Project support, enable that option and restart. Select Home → Refresh. Choose Basic authentication: username powerbi, password your export key. Apply credentials to the complete store-specific source URL shown in ShopBridge. Set the source privacy level to Private. Never paste your key into a query, URL or report title.
6. Check and start building
Check Products on Catalog overview against Shopify. On Refresh & data quality, check Shopify source time and Power BI load time. Sales measures exclude test and cancelled orders; amounts can be blank for mixed currencies or inconsistent source snapshots. Current costs are not historical profit. Verify your own financial figures before relying on reports.
How refresh works
ShopBridge updates the source on your plan's schedule. Sync now starts an extra source update. Power BI Desktop Refresh imports the latest completed source; it does not request a fresh Shopify sync or run unattended. Publishing to Power BI Service and scheduled cloud refresh are separate choices requiring your own account, configuration and validation.
Troubleshooting and cancellation
For an expired Shopify session, choose Reopen in Shopify. For Basic authentication errors in Desktop, remove only the saved ShopBridge source credentials and enter your current export key again. Replacing a key disconnects existing reports until their credentials are updated. To cancel, use Subscription → Cancel subscription or uninstall in Shopify. Downloaded reports remain on your computer.
